I traveled to the Artibonite town of L'Estere, not far from Gonaives, in 2005, with Abdias Rene, a young Haitian emigre whom I met while doing an assignment about after-school tutoring.

These images were taken in L'estere and Port Au Prince, Haiti, in 2005 and 2006.
